Brian Hawley is a disabled Army Veteran, a longtime resident of Harnett County and former middle school teacher. Also, Brian has served as Vice-Commander of American Legion Post 436 in Angier, NC, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, current member of the Angier Planning Board, and current Chairman of the Angier ABC Board.
Brian and his wife, Angier Town Commissioner Loru Boyer Hawley have been married for 30 years and they have a twin son and daughter who currently attend college.
Brian was born in Roanoke, Virginia. He attended Central Carolina Community College, Campbell University, and Liberty University. Brian graduated Cum Laude at Central Carolina Community College and Magna Cum Laude at Campbell University. Brian holds an Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Public Administration/Policy), and Masters in Public Administration.
As a member of the Angier Planning Board Brian has been tasked with ensuring that citizens are provided due process regarding zoning and annexation requests. As the Chairman of the Angier ABC Board, Brian is tasked with serving as leader and facilitator; the Board Chair presides over Board and Executive Committee meetings and calls special meetings as necessary. The Board Chair actively engages the board members, encouraging them to participate and share information. These experiences include working with state and local elected, appointed, and hired individuals.
